What is NAD+?

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) is a derivative of Vitamin B3. The NAD+ compound  is found in every cell of the human body and plays a vital role in regulating the rate at which  cells age. NAD+ contributes to the transfer of energy from fatty acids and glucose to the  mitochondria, where it is converted to cellular energy in the form of ATP.   NAD+ levels are negatively impacted by an unhealthy, modern lifestyle. The decline in NAD+  levels in cells can be associated with over-consumption of fatty foods and alcohol, a sedentary  lifestyle, DNA damage, aging and illness. For example: when alcohol is broken down in the  body, it is through the reduction reaction of the dehydrogenase system of the body.  When  alcohol is consumed in large quantities or if it is taken on a regular basis the NAD+ will be  depleted and will affect the other reactions where NAD+ is needed, leading to reduced  mitochondria functionality. The reduction in functionality of the mitochondria results in the  emergence of age- related conditions such as the decline of cognitive ability and the  maintenance of the carbohydrate metabolism, i.e. the increased difficulty of the body to  regulate blood sugar levels.  NAD+ is also involved in the production of dopamine by aiding in the transformation of the  amino acid tyrosine. Dopamine influences your mood, energy levels, memory and  concentration.

Why use NAD+ Sublingual Drops?

Sublingual administration holds several benefits over oral administration, especially in the case  of NAD+. When taken orally, the NAD+ molecule will accept hydrogen molecules from the  hydrochloric acid in the stomach to form NADH H+, which counteracts the reactions that NAD+  is involved in. When administering NAD+ underneath the tongue, however, it is directly  absorbed by the sublingual veins and is therefore not reduced by the acid in the stomach.  The effective application of an endogenous compound (like NAD+) can aid the repair  functionality that was damaged by the decrease of NAD+ related to aging.
